Kristen P. Helmick, M.D., FACP

Kristen Helmick, M.D, FACP, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician serving as a Medical Director for Wellpoint, West Virginia (formerly WV Unicare, a division of Elevance Health (formerly Anthem) managing Medicaid services in WV. She is licensed in West Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee and Indiana.

Prior to this, Kristen served on the faculty of the WVU School of Medicine for over 8 years, with 5 years as the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency program (WVU Charleston Campus – now the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine)  located at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Kristen’s worked over 17 years as an Internal Medicine physician, providing inpatient acute care as a Hospitalist at CAMC.  She’s also worked in rural outpatient clinics in West Virginia.

Kristen is a 2005 graduate of West Virginia University School of Medicine. She completed undergraduate studies B.S in Biology at Alderson-Broaddus College in Philipi, WV and has served on the A-B Alumni Council.
